Sky Vision, the international production and distribution arm of Sky, has secured its first deal with American Network, The CW, for action packed Sky 1 drama, Hooten & The Lady (8x60).
Produced by Red Planet Productions and penned by some of the UK’s leading writing talent, including Jeff Povey (Silent Witness) and Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy), this nail-biting series follows the escapades of maverick adventurer Hooten, played by Michael Landes (CSI, Love Soup) and fearless historical expert Lady Alexandra portrayed by Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary, W1A).
Described by The Mail on Sunday as “Adrenaline-pumping excitement”, Hooten and the Lady tells the story of a smooth-talking, yet foolhardy, treasure hunter and lone wolf, who often finds himself in sticky situations. Lady Alexandra is an aristocrat and British Museum curator who, despite being prim and straight-laced, is eager to follow in the footsteps of history’s great archaeologists and venture to uncharted lands. Meeting in the thick of the Amazon jungle, they form an unlikely partnership as they travel the globe in pursuit of hidden treasures. Natural opposites, they soon find they don’t get on. However, expediency and danger draw them together as they head to locations including; Bhutan, Ethiopia, the Caribbean and Cambodia on the trail of mysterious missing relics.
Leona Connell, Director of Sales, Sky Vision said “Here at Sky Vision we're delighted that The CW will be the home of Hooten & The Lady in the US, we believe this high-octane adventure drama is a perfect fit for the network. The series was a huge hit with the Sky 1 audience in the U.K. and we hope viewers of The CW will love it just as much."
